Software Engineer - Social Media

There is consensus today that social media is broken. At FUTO we aim to fix this. In this role you will act as product owner of Polycentric , our open-source decentralized social network. We use this to power the comment system in GrayJay, the claims and verification system in FUTO ID, and the https://polycentric.io site.

Additionally you will also provide support for our next generation social media project. The ideal candidate believes strongly in our principles.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Demonstrated capability as a product owner, either in the position of team lead or IC.
• FUTO is a process light organization that is largely driven by engineering. We expect you to be highly independent in this role.
• Experience with Rust.
• Ideally, experience with React.
• Understanding of what makes using an application or website delightful.

Location:

FUTO is based in Austin, Texas. This is an on-site role and we offer relocation assistance.
